This scholarship program is provided in part by the University of California,Berkeley in collaboration with MasterCard Foundation with the aim of promoting 15,000 young people over 10 years, mostly in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Graduate degree seekers must initially be admitted to the university via the regular admissions process before they can be considered for the MasterCard Foundations Program Scholarship.

Eligibility

  • Citizens of a Sub-Saharan African country
  • Demonstrated academic excellence
  • Coming from an economically disadvantaged background
  • A demonstrated disposition to give back to your community, country, or continent¬†–
  • An expressed the desire and intention to return to your home country after completing your studies

Value of scholarship

Students applying to UC Berkeley can apply for the following fully-funded Master’s programs;

Architecture (M.Arch) – For Fall 2018 admissions, only the two year, not three year program, is eligible for the MCF Scholarship
